Those seeking authentic knowledge directly from traditional practice, not filtered through Western frameworks.
People who’ve encountered “Mayan Astrology” online and now want the real foundation beneath the appropriation.
Those who want to understand how the calendar works with human development and life cycles, not get labelled with fixed traits.
Students willing to engage seriously with another worldview, even when it challenges familiar ways of thinking.
Anyone who’s wanted to learn but lacked connection to Maya communities or authentic sources.
Those ready to establish proper understanding before going deeper into calendar practice and interpretation.
This isn’t a lookup table for daily predictions or personality typing.
If you’re looking for birth charts, houses, or planetary influences dressed in Maya symbols, this will disappoint you.
Learning authentic Maya thought requires setting aside what you think you know about time and calendars.
This course provides knowledge, not titles. Only Maya communities grant that recognition through their own processes.
This is serious cultural study, not commercialised “ancient wisdom” adapted for easy consumption.
Even experienced students often discover their foundation was built on misinterpretations. Real learning requires humility.
The Cholq’ij is alive! It is a living entity that connects us with the whole. It teaches you to listen – to your own spirit, to the living world around you, to cycles and timing. The calendar reconnects you to what most people have forgotten: we’re part of this living planet, not separate from it.
Â
WHAT MOST SOURCES GET WRONG
Â
âś— Teaching it as something dead from the past – a historical artefact, not a living practice
âś— Presenting “day signs” as personality types – fixed Western astrology labels instead of dynamic forces to engage with
âś— Tell the stories without understanding their meanings – They lack the principles of Maya thought to completely get it
âś— Horoscopes masked as daily energies – tell fixed interpretations instead of talking about the dynamic mood of the 260 faces of the world
Â
âś— Mixing information from other cultures – blending New Age, colonial, and invented interpretations that mislead people from authentic Maya knowledge
The Cholq’ij is a 260 day calendar because that’s the human gestation period. It’s the foundation of how Maya people understand the calendar’s relationship to life itself.
Â
When you learn the connections to pregnancy, women’s cycles, agricultural rhythms, and astronomical events, you’re not collecting trivia. You’re seeing the integrated framework that explains why this calendar exists and how it functions.
Â
Most sources lack access to the lineage knowledge that explains how masculine and feminine principles create the calendar’s structure and how blood and moon cycles make it function. And how gestation provides the fundamental keys about your existence.
Â
Without this foundation, you’re learning symbols without the framework that gives them meaning.
Â
This course teaches you to see the Cholq’ij as Maya communities see it: as a living entity reflecting natural cycles that enriches the relationship you have with yourself, your creation and the world around you.
Â
Unavoidable Reality: Whoever understands the foundation can build authentic practice. Whoever skips it stays dependent on others’ interpretations and sheer entertainment.
We begin by clearing the confusion. I break down what you'll find online when searching for Maya calendar information and show you how to distinguish between the fake, the distorted, and the original. This module gives you the critical lens to evaluate any source you encounter.
Here you'll learn the basic Maya principles that shape how communities understand time itself. You'll discover why 260 days connects to human gestation, see the complete calendar structure, and understand the main uses of the calendar in daily life. This foundation gives you the why before the how.
You'll meet the 20 Nominal Nawals and their connection to gestation and pregnancy types. You'll learn what Nawals actually are in Maya cosmology: living forces that shape existence and human expression, not personality types.
The 13 Numeral Nawals connect to the intercourse act and represent primal impulses. You'll understand how these numbers carry their own nature and power, each one expressing a distinct force. This completes your understanding of the calendar's dual structure.
Here we bring everything together. You'll learn how the Trecena (13-day cycle) functions and understand the Mam (Year Bearer) and its significance. Most importantly, you'll discover how to actually read the calendar in daily practice, moving from theory to living relationship.

I was initiated as an Ajq’ij in 2017 under tat Apab’yan Tew in the K’iche’ Maya tradition from Nahualá, Guatemala. For 9 years I’ve been walking this path and continuously specialising in pregnancy, human development through the calendar, and ceremonial work through fire and water.
First and foremost, I honour the indigenous families and communities who took me in, saved me, and trusted me with their knowledge. Honouring what was given to me is everything. I don’t adapt their wisdom. I don’t simplify it. I teach it as I was taught and in the way their knowledge continues to be passed down, to keep the tradition.
This path is my life and I live this every day. I honour this path through my altar and my dedication to all those I can reach. My clients know I embrace every case and go all the way with them. My apprentices know I do whatever it takes to ensure they learn properly.
I created Maya Daykeeper on YouTube (1,000+ subscribers) featuring my tat speaking directly from source. I’ve taught this course in Portuguese and work privately with students regularly. This course has been taught live to students in English and Portuguese. You’re getting the complete recorded version.
